What is cervical spondylotic myelopathy

What is cervical spondylotic myelopathy

First of all, we need to understand the classification of cervical spondylosis. At present, the mainstream classification of cervical spondylosis in the world is divided into three types. The first type is simple cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical spondylosis of the cervical type. The second type is cervical spondylosis of the radiculopathy. The third type is cervical spondylosis of the spinal cord. As for cervical spondylosis of the spinal cord, its main clinical manifestation is spinal cord damage. For example, its common clinical symptoms are limb numbness and weakness, movement and sensory disorders. It is the most serious type of all three types. Severe cervical spondylosis of the spinal cord can lead to quadriplegia and urinary and bowel disorders. Therefore, cervical spondylosis of the spinal cord should be taken seriously by everyone. In clinical practice, we generally recommend conservative treatment for cervical spondylosis of the cervical type and cervical spondylosis of the radiculopathy first. However, once cervical spondylosis of the spinal cord is diagnosed, we do not recommend conservative treatment. Generally, surgical treatment is recommended first.

Symptoms of frozen shoulder and cervical spondylosis

Scapulohumeral periarthritis and cervical spondylosis often occur together. Cervical spondylosis can cause scapulohumeral periarthritis and is one of the main causes of scapulohumeral periarthritis. When the cervical intervertebral disc herniation compresses the nerves, it causes pain in the shoulder and scapular muscles, restricts movement, and leads to reduced local shoulder movement and adhesion, which easily causes symptoms of scapulohumeral periarthritis. In addition to shoulder symptoms, cervical spondylosis combined with scapulohumeral periarthritis also has neurological symptoms, which can be preliminarily diagnosed. MRI of the cervical spine can be taken to effectively distinguish them through examination, medical inquiry, and MRI results.

Self-treatment of cervical spondylosis

Self-treatment of cervical spondylosis is to do some simple exercises in daily life, such as changing your posture in life. If you work at a desk for a long time, you can get up and move your cervical spine every half an hour to an hour, such as the so-called rice character exercise. In daily life, you can also use things that are at hand, such as placing your palms on the four directions of the cervical spine to resist, let the cervical spine perform left and right front and back confrontation pressure training, and strengthen the neck muscles to stabilize the cervical spine, which can provide healthy protection.
