Lymphatic tuberculosis is a disease caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Although it is not an acute or critical disease, it may lead to serious consequences if not treated in time. The treatment of lymphatic tuberculosis mainly relies on anti-tuberculosis drugs, combined with nutritional support and lifestyle adjustments. The causes of lymphatic tuberculosis include tuberculosis infection, low immunity, genetic susceptibility, etc. Early diagnosis and standardized treatment are the key. 1. Tuberculosis infection is the main cause of lymph node tuberculosis. Mycobacterium tuberculosis enters the human body through the respiratory tract and spreads to the lymph nodes through the lymphatic system, causing inflammation and granuloma formation. People with low immunity, such as HIV-infected people, diabetics, and those who use immunosuppressants for a long time, are more likely to be infected with tuberculosis and develop lymph node tuberculosis. Genetic factors also affect an individual's susceptibility to tuberculosis to a certain extent. 2 The treatment of lymph node tuberculosis is mainly based on anti-tuberculosis drugs, and commonly used drugs include isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol. The treatment plan is usually 6-9 months, divided into an intensive phase and a consolidation phase. The intensive phase uses a combination of four drugs, while the consolidation phase uses fewer drugs. During the drug treatment process, liver function and drug side effects need to be monitored regularly, and the medication plan should be adjusted if necessary. 3 Nutritional support is essential for the recovery of patients with lymphadenopathy. A high-protein diet such as eggs, fish, and soy products can help enhance immunity; fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C such as oranges, kiwis, and spinach can promote tissue repair; moderate intake of zinc-rich foods such as nuts and lean meat can help improve resistance to infection. Avoid high-sugar and high-fat diets to avoid affecting immune function. 4. Lifestyle adjustment has a positive effect on the treatment and prevention of recurrence of lymphatic tuberculosis. Maintaining adequate sleep, 7-8 hours per night, helps repair the immune system; moderate exercise such as walking and yoga can enhance physical fitness, but excessive fatigue should be avoided; maintain good hygiene habits, wash hands frequently, wear masks, and reduce the risk of tuberculosis transmission; quit smoking and limit alcohol consumption to avoid affecting immune function. 5 Psychological counseling is also important for the recovery of patients with lymph node tuberculosis. Long-term treatment may lead to emotional problems such as anxiety and depression. Patients can relieve psychological pressure by communicating with family and friends, participating in support groups, etc. If necessary, they can seek professional psychological counseling, learn coping skills, and maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, which will help improve treatment compliance and recovery effects. 6 The key to preventing lymphatic tuberculosis is to control the spread of tuberculosis and enhance immunity. Vaccination with BCG can reduce the risk of tuberculosis infection; avoid close contact with patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis; keep indoor ventilation to reduce the spread of tuberculosis bacteria; have regular physical examinations, early detection and treatment of tuberculosis infection; strengthen exercise, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and improve the body's resistance. Although lymphadenopathy is not an acute or critical disease, it may lead to serious complications such as abscess formation, fistula, and systemic dissemination if not treated in time. Once symptoms such as swollen lymph nodes in the neck, axillary or groin, low fever, night sweats, and fatigue appear, you should seek medical attention in time, undergo tuberculin tests, chest X-rays, lymph node biopsies, and other examinations, and start standardized treatment as soon as possible after a clear diagnosis. Most patients can achieve a good prognosis by adhering to full-course, adequate, and combined medication, combined with nutritional support, lifestyle adjustments, and psychological counseling. At the same time, strengthening tuberculosis prevention and control measures and raising public awareness of tuberculosis are of great significance in reducing the occurrence of lymphadenopathy. |
