How many days does it usually take for hemorrhoids to heal on their own?

The clinical symptoms of hemorrhoids are pain, bleeding, and protruding foreign bodies from the anus. If the pain and bleeding are not very serious, you can pay attention to your diet, keep it light, and avoid eating spicy, irritating, dry and hard foods. You can eat more fruits and vegetables, and foods that moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements. Some topical medications or oral moisturizing and antipruritic drugs can be used locally on the anus to achieve the effect of stopping bleeding and relieving pain. In about 2 to 4 days, the symptoms can be controlled or relieved. If it is a mild hemorrhoid, it will generally heal itself in about 3 days. If it does not recover for more than 3 days, it will not heal itself.

How to check for hemorrhoids?

1. Rectal examination: The doctor wears a cot or glove, sticks his index finger on lubricant, and inserts it from the anus into the rectum, circling the inner wall of the rectum to determine whether there is any bulge or growth.

2. Colonoscopy or anoscopy. Mainly for people over 40 years old, to rule out intestinal diseases or colorectal cancer. If there are relevant risk factors, it is recommended to further perform electronic colonoscopy to rule out the possibility of colorectal polyps, inflammation or cancer.
