Principles of treatment of breast cysts

Breast cysts are mostly benign problems, but if you find that they are abnormally large or accompanied by pain, you should seek medical attention promptly to clarify the situation.

Breast cysts are small, fluid-filled sacs in the breast tissue that are usually related to endocrine fluctuations or hormone levels. They are very common in women, especially those approaching menopause. Cysts can range in size from the size of a pea to the size of a ping-pong ball and can sometimes be uncomfortable, but in most cases are harmless.

For small, asymptomatic cysts, observation is an option, as they may change or resolve on their own with the menstrual cycle. If the cyst is large, recurs frequently, or causes discomfort, cyst fluid can be removed by puncture to relieve symptoms. Some cysts may require further testing, such as imaging evaluation or tissue biopsy, to rule out the possibility of malignancy. The recurrence of cysts is related to hormone fluctuations, so it is also important to adjust lifestyle habits.

It is recommended to eat a light and balanced diet, especially increase foods rich in vitamin E and reduce caffeine intake. Pay attention to maintaining a regular lifestyle and avoid staying up late and excessive mood swings. If the cyst causes obvious discomfort or is accompanied by abnormal secretions or breast deformation, you should go to the hospital's breast department for professional evaluation and treatment as soon as possible.
